Nokia 701 Review

nokia 701 official Nokia 701 ReviewNokia 701 is the latest sensation in the smart phone market from the Finnish multinational. The most exciting new feature that Nokia has introduced with this smart phone is obviously the new Symbian Belle operating system which has some similarities and functions like Android. One of the main demerits that Nokia had compared to the other smart phones available in the market was that the Nokia Symbian OS was bit clunkier than Android, but the current Belle OS somewhat succeeds in changing that tradition.

Design:

The Nokia 701 manages to cram in the brightest screen on a mobile phone to date with its 1000 nits. The handset is thin enough to battle the other brands existing in the market with a size of 11mm and a weight of around 130gm. The built-in that Nokia given to the handset is sporty and stylish with a removable metal battery cover the rest is plastic. The back houses Nokia’s 8MP fixed-focus shooter with dual LED flash.

Functionality:

Compared with previous versions of Symbian for touch screens, even with Anna, Symbian Belle feels fast, and we are talking a very notable difference. Browsing is faster, swiping and scrolling around the interface feels smooth and installation of applications is also very smooth and fast.

The 8MP camera is good but we cannot give it an excellent rating as it struggles in low light and dynamic range is also not that great when it comes to brighter objects. Overall performance was good and the videos are quite cool compared to the pictures.

Verdict:

The best and only cool thing one can feel about Nokia 701 is its new features Symbian OS Belle. Other features are average and not up to mark compared to other Android smart phones available in the market of the same range. So we would like to give it 6 out of 10.
