I think everyone here love to watch youtube videos and there comes situations when you want to save your favorite videos in your hard disk for future viewing.

Even, I love to download videos from youtube whenever I get some interesting videos. Though, I always recommend you whenever you download a video, please don’t misuse it by re-uploading it with your name, because this is a copyright violation and you may be prosecuted for a long term jail… blah-blah !!!

Anyways, If you are going to download a video for your personal use, then you are welcome to continue reading this article. Below given are some tips for downloading your favorite youtube videos:

If you are a Firefox user, then you can download various plugins/addons which comes for downloading youtube videos, but I will tell only about the one which I use. Its NetVideoHunter. This is really a great addon for your firefox, It can download almost any type of videos from any of the video sites.

Anyways, for installing just to to Tools->Addons->GetAdons and search for NetVideoHunter and install it. But, don’t forget to restart your browser after installing the same.

After the browser has been restarted you will see a small icon in your browser’s status bar, open youtube.com and then play some video, the download URL of the video will automatically been extracted by this nice addon. Now, you have to just click on the icon on the status bar as shown in the picture below:

Now what, click the icon as shown by the red-arrow, the netvideohunter download window will open with the list of the videos being played, just click the download button and the download starts instantly.

There are some preferences for this addon too, which can be accessed through Tools->Addons->Extensions->NetVideoHunter->Preferences link.
