Login Dongle – Another Way to Secure your WordPress Blog

WordPress is one of the most used CMS (Content Management System) used by various newbie and professional bloggers. As the count for the lovers of WordPress is increasing, in a corner, there is also increasing the count of hackers who can jump in to your Administrator area of your WordPress blog very easily if you haven’t applied proper security measurements in your site.

Since WordPress has been developed in PHP language, its totally open source and there are 80% chances that your site may get hacked by crooks if proper precautions haven’t been taken at a proper time. Moreover, keep in mind that if your site has good visitors and having a lot of readers, there are more chances that your site may get hacked.

I have seen that due to lesser security measurements by various bloggers, their site hands-up infront of the hackers, but don’t worry, today I have seen a great plugin which will secure your site to maximum extent possible. But remember, this is just a way to secure your blog, you have to see and follow other tools and provisions to hard secure it more.

The plugin for which I am going to tell you isLogin Dongle, which actually disables the default login button in your wp-admin wordpress login screen and after entering the login credentials, you have to click the Bookmarklet (created during the setup of plugin), which then sends the credentials and a security question to the WordPress install which then logs you in, if all the information matches.

This is great because the bookmarklet is the only way to login to the administration area and hackers won’t have access to the bookmarklet which resides in your browser’s bookmark toolbar.

Moreover, this plugin is compatible with almost any version of WordPress. You can download this great plugin from the WordPress Login Dongle Plugin page.
